Can you unravel complex issues and large volumes of data and translate them into clear cost price insights? Then this is your role.

You have at least a completed bachelor’s degree (HBO) in Industrial Engineering & Management, Mechanical Engineering or a comparable field, and at least 3 years of experience in a similar role within a technical environment. You effortlessly switch between different calculations and projects and bring structure to your work;

You have a strong interest in technology, data and finance, are accurate and analytical, and are able to interpret large amounts of numerical information and identify links between technology and costs;

You have an excellent command of Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Microsoft Navision is a plus and will help you quickly find your way in the role;

You work in a structured manner, even under time pressure, and proactively obtain missing information from colleagues;

You are curious and investigative by nature: you don’t just want to execute, but also to understand, and you actively ensure clarity in your work.

As a Cost Engineer within the Business Unit General Industry, you will work on challenging, innovative projects in an international and dynamic environment. You play a key role in preparing competitive quotations for high-end manufacturing solutions – ranging from handling systems to complex, fully automated production lines.

You translate complex technical information and large amounts of data into clear and reliable cost price calculations. In doing so, you work closely with Sales, Supply Chain, Production and Finance to structure all relevant information and translate it into one consistent cost overview.

Calculate cost prices of machines and production lines based on materials, engineering hours and assembly;

Provide insight into cost structures and the assumptions underlying quotations;

Contribute ideas on cost optimisation and manufacturability in collaboration with engineering and production;

Combine data from various sources into one clear cost overview;

Contribute to international projects and alignment with foreign subsidiaries.

In addition to preparing cost calculations, you play an active role in improving our internal processes. You provide input for purchasing, resource planning and the further optimisation of our calculation methodology. You also identify trends in cost developments, both internally and in the market, and share these insights with the sales team so they can make better-informed decisions.

Your colleague, the Concept Engineer, has developed a concept which you will brainstorm about together. He then hands it over to you so you can further detail the costs using your extensive knowledge.

You’ve enjoyed a nice walk along the edge of the Veluwe, and before you know it, your break is already over.

You have something special on the agenda today: your colleague is giving a short workshop on Visual Components. As a Cost Engineer, you don’t work directly with this software, but it’s great to be involved, because you are a team.

The day has flown by. You walk outside together with your colleague and look back on an enjoyable day full of great successes.
