The Legal team is at the heart of the company’s growth, supporting all central functions – including Real Estate, Supply Chain, Technology, Procurement, and more – from our international headquarters in Zwaagdijk-Oost. Due to the company’s expansion, Action is recruiting a Legal Counsel Real Estate to strengthen the team at their international HQ.

As Legal Counsel Real Estate you will be the legal expert supporting Action’s Real Estate organization across Europe. You will help shape the legal framework that enables the rapid and controlled expansion of Action’s store base, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency in all property-related matters. Together with an experienced real estate lawyer, your responsibilities include:

Setting the group’s central legal direction for leases and real estate-related agreements (e.g., general contractor, maintenance, and installation contracts)

Monitoring and safeguarding the quality of leases and agreements across countries, ensuring alignment with key KPIs

Handling various procurement agreements for real estate-related goods and services

Providing training and raising legal awareness within the real estate domain

Establishing the real estate legal framework for new countries

Advising on wide variety of ad-hoc real estate issues

Driving the development of AI-driven legal tools

Managing external legal spend related to real estate

You will work closely with the central and local real estate teams, as well as with the real estate procurement team and other departments on real estate-related matters. You’ll also liaise with country-level legal managers and participate in frequent alignment meetings across Europe.

This role offers variety, challenge, and responsibility in a fast-paced international environment. You’ll join a pragmatic, business-minded and international legal team of eight lawyers, each with their own focus area, and report directly to the Head of Legal.

Solid experience with commercial contracting is essential

We are looking for a decisive, hands-on legal professional with a sharp business sense and a collaborative mindset. You thrive in a fast-paced, international environment and enjoy solving diverse legal challenges.

A master degree in law (LLM or equivalent)

Solid experience with commercial contracting is essential

Experience with an international business environment is a plus

Fluent in English, command of the Dutch language is a plus, and other European languages are a bonus
