Our client has a job opening for a Pilot Plant technician who gets excited about supporting Product and Process Technologists in making high quality products, with state of the art processes.

You will work in the Pilot Plant of a state of the art Research and Innovation center in Utrecht. You are responsible for making the product (pilot phase) and testing processes together with the technologist.

The technologists are the customers of the pilot plant, so you are expected to have a customer service attitude to assist them in answering their research questions.

With your knowledge of the equipment and the food process you are a vital member of our Specialized Nutrition organization. Together with your colleagues from the Shelf Life department, Food Science & Technology lab and Product & Process development, you strive for continues improvement.

In this role you are the expert on processes and equipment in the pilot plant and you are willing to help and advice colleagues from other departments.

In this position you have a key role in the pilot plant and are willing to help and advice colleagues from other departments. You will learn about processes like pasteurization, sterilization and homogenization. You feel responsible for your work and are added value to the team due to your pro-active mindset and willingness to help your colleagues where needed.

Preparation of trials: weighing raw materials, preparing the equipment and packaging

Execution of pilot plant trials requested by Product and Process developers

Keeping the pilot plant clean and organized

Assisting with warehouse management and small maintenance tasks

Taking care of a safe and pleasant work environment

Compliance with our food safety requirements (ISO 22000)

We are looking for a hands-on pilot plant technician who has a passion for working within a pilot plant environment and has a natural interest in food ingredients and food processing.

MBO or HBO Food & Process or similar study and/or VAPRO C with a food background

Working experience in food processing is a pre

You have an open style of communication and are eager to learn

Experience in a quality regulated environment (e.g ISO 22000 / 9001) is a pre
