We are seeking an experienced System Software Architect to help define the architecture of an innovative medical wearable device. This is a unique opportunity to join a rapidly growing department that is shaping the future of medical technology.

In this role, you will lead the development of a wireless, next-generation medical wearable device. The company has already developed a technology demonstrator and is now focused on building a prototype for the next iteration. You will work closely with a design house and interact with a multidisciplinary team to define the high-level system architecture, both in embedded systems and the cloud.

Define and architect a wireless medical wearable device, evolving from the current wired version.

Lead the design of a system that integrates optical sensing for improved signal quality, focusing on near-real-time performance and power budgets.

Define high-level system requirements and identify potential bottlenecks in hardware and software.

Assess embedded platforms and development tools, ensuring they meet system requirements.

Work with external design houses and participate in design reviews to ensure the system meets both technical and regulatory standards.

Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants.

Help define the scope of work in medical sensing technology, particularly related to blood pressure measurement via optical sensing.

Ensure the architecture supports real-time sensing, while balancing power consumption and accuracy.

Master’s or PhD in Software Engineering, Electronics, Physics, or a related technical field.

5–10 years of hands-on experience in embedded software development, with a strong background in medical devices or regulated industries (automotive, defense, etc.).

Familiarity with wireless communication protocols and embedded systems architecture.

Experience with optical sensing technology is a plus.

Experience with system design for near-real-time applications and power-efficient solutions.

Prior experience in a regulated environment (e.g., ISO 13485, IEC 62304) is highly preferred.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to work in a cross-functional, international environment.

Familiarity with embedded system development platforms and tools.

A self-learning mindset, with the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and industry requirements.
