STM Group - formerly known as Staalmeesters - has been an established name since 1996. Due to our rapid growth and (inter)national projects, we now operate under the name STM Group. Behind this new name is the same down-to-earth, ambitious team from Twente.

We're an ambitious, future-oriented company known for its high-speed approach to the design, engineering, and realization of projects. This focus on speed and efficiency applies not only to project execution but also to the internal organization. To remain competitive and stay in step with technological developments, STM Group continually explores how innovative technologies can be leveraged to organize both project and business processes in smarter, more efficient ways.

The organization operates through a wide range of processes — from project planning, resource management, and cost estimating to reporting, quality control, and administrative tasks such as invoicing. With the rise of Artificial Intelligence, new opportunities are emerging to accelerate these processes, automate routine tasks, and generate real-time insights. For example, STM Group aims to eventually automate project cost calculations based on 3D models and generate internal reports and dashboards through AI-driven systems.

By integrating AI into its internal processes in a smart and strategic way, STM Group expects to work more efficiently, better manage project outcomes, and free up more time for core activities and strategic decision-making.

STM Group wants to investigate how Artificial Intelligence can be used to optimize and automate internal processes. The assignment focuses on analyzing the current business and project processes to identify where AI can deliver the most added value. Based on this research, a concrete advisory report will be developed, along with a proof of concept for one or more AI solutions that will immediately demonstrate the possibilities of AI within the organization.
