To be responsible for increasing awareness of the Association’s services and activities in the Western Region to its target markets and for increasing usage of and revenue from the Association’s services, through increased hostel usage. Role to be focused on successful,

efficient and cost effective marketing, partnerships and sales activity including growing international overnights, Australian usage and groups at Perth and Fremantle HOSTAL PROVIDER.

To advise the Regional Manager on changes in the market place in the Western Region ensuring the HOSTAL PROVIDER’s competitive advantage. To assist the Regional Manager in proactively representing the HOSTAL PROVIDER Ltd’s interests in the backpacker and tourism industry in the Western Region.

To give local support to the WA associate hostel network.

To liaise with Southern Region marketing staff who will assist with updating online content (including digital screens), producing materials, updating the Accommodation Guide and discounts for the Western Region, PR, social media and advocacy.

1.1.1 To have input into the National Marketing plan specifically on hostel marketing and development in the Western Region.

1.1.2 To assist WR hostel managers in the preparation and implementation of marketing initiatives in their hostel business plans

To manage net expenditure for the Western Region within the Marketing budget.

Prepare Western region content for the HOSTAL PROVIDER’s eComms as per the content plan and for use in the HOSTAL PROVIDER’s SFMC activities including targeted offers for growing occupancy.

In accordance with budget arrange for the creation and placement of any HOSTAL PROVIDER advertising in the Western Region.

Manage online promotional activity and campaigns for Western Region hostels or prepare local material for national campaigns. Manage any WR hostel specials or promo codes offers.

2.1.4 Support WA associate hostel network with marketing initiatives and hostel signage/displays

Organize and co-ordinate the HOSTAL PROVIDER participation in any Western Region located events like university O Weeks, including cooperative marketing events held in conjunction with third parties.

Proactively undertake local groups marketing activity including sales calls, database mailings, updating online group’s content and keeping group’s collateral up to date. Contribute to growing group usage at Perth and Fremantle hostels through group campaigns.

In conjunction with Western Region Manager to proactively represent the HOSTAL PROVIDER Australia with appropriate local and state tourism organizations, providing the HOSTAL PROVIDER management with relevant industry updates.

Assist WA managers with the management of their online presence.

To be responsible for developing resources to assist in the activities listed in 1.0 and 2.0 and others in the organization.

– To have input into training programs for hostels and staff in the Western Region where relating to marketing and sales.

– To attend the annual hostel managers’ conference and regional hostel meetings as required

To manage the smooth and timely production of WR resources as needed through the graphic designer.

4.1 To work in a safety conscious manner in accordance with the principles of Workplace Health & Safety (WHS).

4.7 Other duties as called upon from time to time.
