Center for Microbiome Analyses and Therapeutics

The Center for Microbiome Analyses and Therapeutics (CMAT) at LUMC offers a comprehensive range of services in microbiome research, with a focus on the human microbiome. Services are tailored to the needs of internal and external clients, with support from study design to publication.

Leading researchers and physicians at CMAT provide end-to-end support for microbiome research, from initial study design through to publication. Equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and guided by experts in the field, CMAT provides tailored services for every stage of microbiome research: consultancy, sample logistics, data generation, bioinformatics and statistical analysis.

We operate under a hybrid funding model with institutional support and user fees covering operational costs. We work with standardized and pre-approved pricing schemes to facilitate internal and external billing. However, due to high customization, it is not possible to include pricing here. Would you like to receive a cost estimate or quotation for your new research project? Contact us at [staat bij de werkgever] for more information.

CMAT continuously updates its services with innovative protocols for its users, while ensuring compliance with local and European regulations and legislation governing medical scientific research.

The Center for Microbiome Analyses and Therapeutics (CMAT) was established in 2017 and is embedded in the Leiden University Center for Infectious Diseases (LUCID) department. Its mission is to support microbiome research projects for researchers and physicians at the highest scientific standards. CMAT specializes in studying the microbiome’s contributions to disease etiology and the diagnostic, prognostic, therapeutic and preventive potential of microbiome-targeted approaches. Furthermore, the center supports microbiome teaching activities of undergraduate and PhD students in biomedical fields.
