As an Environmental & Waste Specialist, you will work at the intersection of environmental science, engineering, and project management. You will support various projects and ensure that waste streams are processed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Maintaining an overview of waste streams and quantities at the yard

Monitoring proper waste separation and processing

Determining the appropriate processing or recycling route for each waste stream

Maintaining contact with waste processors and transport companies

Preparing waste reports for projects and clients

Reviewing inventories of hazardous materials on offshore installations

Advising on possible recycling and processing routes

Communicating with clients about waste streams, properties, and quantities

Inspecting incoming offshore structures for potential hazardous substances

Organizing investigations and sampling (e.g. asbestos or material testing)

Interpreting research results and reporting to the project team

Ensuring projects comply with relevant laws and regulations

Supporting environmental audits and ISO certifications

Monitoring emissions to air, water, and soil

Conducting audits at waste processing companies

Depending on your interests and development, you may also specialize in topics such as mercury management, recycling processes, and international waste transport.

HBO (Bachelor’s level) degree in, for example:

Industry, offshore, or technical projects

Experience is a plus, but motivation and eagerness to learn are at least as important.

You also recognize yourself in the following:

Strong communication skills (Dutch and English)

Willingness to work both in the office and at the yard
