In order to expand the engineering capacity of the company, Fortan is looking for a experienced structural engineer who is willing to carry out, supervise and successfully complete projects within a team or on an individual base.

As a structural engineer you will be involved with the basic design of diverse and mostly complex steel structures, taking regulations, specifications and client wishes into account.

The engineer realizes this with the necessary know-how and a convincing authority based on work experience. Projects are carried out with a high degree of independence. Sometimes there is a team of additional draughtsmen / constructors who must be led for a specific project.

We are looking for a qualified and independent professional (HTS/TU Mechanical Engineering) with extensive work experience as a structural engineer in steel constructions (dredging / shipbuilding / mechanical engineering).

In addition to an adequate knowledge and level of experience, independent professional practice is important and being able to communicate (Dutch and English) with Fortan’s clients and employees is a crucial part of the function.
