Construction Metalworker / Structural Fitter – Makkum Our long-term client is looking for skilled Construction Metalworkers / Structural Fitters to join their Montage Department in Makkum. You will work on high-quality yacht construction projects, carrying out tasks such as fabricating and installing foundations, floors, platforms, drip trays, equipment, pumps, and exhaust systems for engines and generators. The role also includes various welding activities on piping, frames, and structures. Start: 2 positions from week 37, with an additional 3 positions from week 40.Location: Makkum, Netherlands.

The De Vries Scheepsbouw Makkum shipyard opened its doors in August 2005 with one dock hall. In 2019, a second hall was added. Thanks to its location on the IJsselmeer, the shipyard is ideally suited for the construction, transportation, and refitting of large yachts. An education at mid-level, preferably in shipbuilding

Are you in possession of a valid VCA or VCA-Vol certificate

Must be able to communicate with the employee in Dutch or English

Demonstrable work experience as a Ship Metal Worker

Experience with reading drawings, measuring and marking

Experience with tack welding, grinding and burning

As a Structural Fabricator, you will be part of the Assembly Department. This department consists of a team of skilled professionals working in the following disciplines: Plumbers, Pipefitters, Structural Fabricators, and Mechanical Fitters.

As a Structural Fabricator, your responsibilities will include, among other things, the fabrication and installation of foundations, floors, and platforms in technical spaces, drip trays, equipment, and pumps. You will also be involved in installing exhaust systems for engines and generators, as well as carrying out various welding activities on piping systems, frames, and floors.

You have a technical education at an intermediate vocational level (MBO). Preferably, you have work experience in the yacht building, shipbuilding, or installation engineering industry. Reading technical drawings and/or schematics is not a problem for you. Quality is your top priority — you strive to perform your work with the utmost precision and attention to detail. You are a team player with good communication skills and take responsibility for working together to bring the project to a successful completion.

Monthly vacation allowance of approximately 130 EUR

Health care contribution of approximately 120 EUR per month

Total of approximately 2840 EUR net for basic hours per month

Transportation allowance of 0.19 EUR/km for commuting with own vehicle

€680-720 per week for 40 basic hours netto (including StiPP pension contribution), depending on experience, independence, and language skills

Approx. €110 per month healthcare allowance

Total from approx. €3,250 net per month for basic hours
