Our visiting programme offers researchers the opportunity to spend some time at CWI doing high-quality research and expanding their own research network.

Are you a researcher in mathematics or computer science interested in spending time at CWI? We look forward to welcoming you at our institute via our visiting programme.

Our visiting programme offers researchers the opportunity to spend some time at CWI, doing high-quality research and expanding their own research network. This programme is available for researchers both from the Netherlands and abroad. We especially encourage researchers to combine a Research Visit with joining one of our Research Semester Programmes . Whether you like to stay fulltime or prefer to spend only a few days a week at CWI over a certain period, CWI will provide office space and access to our facilities. If needed we can cover (part of) the travel and accommodation expenses as well. And most importantly you will be part of our research community, while you:

explore new and emerging research directions

collaborate with national and international researchers

Visit CWI at Amsterdam Science Park through our visiting programme and connect with our researchers while enjoying our excellent facilities.

Assistant, associate and full professors from the Netherlands or abroad, who

are working on a topic that fits within one of CWIs focus areas and

are willing to work closely together with CWI Scientists to accelerate joint research endeavors

are willing to give a distinguished lecture during their time at CWI

and preferably take part in one of our research semester programmes

A research visit can either be fulltime or parttime depending on your preference. From parttime visitors we expect researchers to be present at CWI at least two days a week over a period of minimum 3 months and maximum 6 months. The duration of the stay for fulltime visitors can vary between 1 and 5 months.

CWI can contribute to your travel and accommodation costs. For fulltime visitors there is a maximum budget for 2.000 per month for 5 months. Parttime visitors can claim this budget pro-rata.

The application process is open (i.e., in principle any scientist can apply), however it is anticipated that applicants who have already coordinated their plans with CWI scientists before submitting the application will be more likely to succeed.
