Junior ALM Specialist

As a Junior ALM Specialist at ASN Bank in Utrecht, you'll get the opportunity to learn, gain a full overview of our balance sheet and make a direct impact, all while contributing to our mission of societal impact.

What will you do?
As a Junior ALM Specialist, you will work in a collaborative team of 11 professionals. You will analyze the bank's interest rate risk position, weighing the value perspective against the earnings perspective. You assess the value of future cash flows while asking yourself: what happens in the short term when interest rates move? How do changes in rates affect our income? Along the way, you'll also develop an understanding of customer behavior — how do savers and mortgage clients respond to changes in macroeconomic conditions, and how do we respond to that? A great role to learn the ins and outs of our bank from the inside.

Your responsibilities:

• Analyze the interest rate risk position of the bank, both from a value and earnings perspective
• Use the bank's IRRBB behavioral models and monitor their performance
• Process and analyze balance sheet, commercial and market data
• Prepare clear and reliable reports to support senior management decision-making
• Collaborate with commercial and risk departments, external auditors and regulators
• Continuously improve and automate balance sheet management analyses and processes

This is where you'll work
The Asset and Liability Management (ALM) team is part of the Balance Sheet Management department, operating at the heart of ASN Bank. Our team of 11 experienced professionals will be there to guide and support you as you grow in your role. You'll work closely with other BSM departments, giving you a unique insight into the full picture of our bank. We offer flexibility in how you approach your work and a healthy work-life balance. Your qualities
You have an analytical mindset and an eagerness to learn. You enjoy working in a team and are not afraid to ask questions. You have strong communication skills and a customer-oriented approach. You're able to translate complex financial concepts into understandable language for different audiences.

You also have:

• A completed university education, in a quantitative direction (e.g. econometrics, physics, mathematics).
• 0–2 years of internship or work experience in financial risk management at a bank or consultancy, preferably in ALM.

This position is in scale 8 with a salary range between €4001,- and €5336,- gross montly based on 36 hours workweek. In addition, you can count on:
